RedER Chubut Project Launch Event: A Step Towards a Fair Energy Transition

November 2024, Chubut – Today, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., the launch event of the RedER Chubut Project was held: Fair and Inclusive Energy Transition of Family Farming in the Rural Society of Esquel, province of Chubut.
This project, promoted by the 500RPM Foundation, co-financed by the European Union in Argentina within the framework of the Program for Strengthening Civil Society Organizations (2024-2027), with the collaboration of the Ibero-American Union of Municipalists and the Patagonia Natural Foundation, aims to promote an energy transition that is equitable and accessible to all sectors of the province of Chubut.
RedER Chubut focuses on three key areas:
- Production: Through the “Frutillas del Viento” project, we seek to integrate renewable energies into intensive horticultural production, in collaboration with INTA Esquel and local producers.
- Education: Practical training in the construction of wind turbines with students and teachers from technical schools, promoting the transfer of technology and knowledge.
- Governance: Collaboration with local governments and institutions to develop an energy transition agenda that benefits family farming.
The event was attended by the Head of Cooperation Ilse Cougé and other members of the Argentine Delegation of the European Union, as well as the presence of the Minister of Production Laura Mirantes, local authorities and key actors in the development of the project.
The local producers who are part of this initiative, as well as the directors of the participating Technical Schools, participated in this event, presenting the progress and next steps within the framework of this ambitious project that seeks to position Chubut as a benchmark in the transition towards renewable energies.
